Executive Summary This project on racial discrimination in middle school classrooms is intended to assist and teach teachers strategies and tools to handle this separation in the classroom. This project will provide an unpacking of racial discrimination and the forms it can take, as well as how those apply to a typical middle school classroom. Dream It, Do It

1. Now that you have conceptualized your project, what does it look like from the outside? From the outside it appears as a take on how students of all different backgrounds share differences in privilege, giving the vibe of a very personal and potentially controversial message; who we are and where we are from affects our education. It can come across as preachy due to the nature of its content in having a focus on acknowledgement over application. This is not to say application of certain measures to alleviate the issues of racial inequality is not necessary, more so not as highlighted as the first step to solving an issue, realizing it exists. 2. The purpose of this message is to assist educators in discussing the hot topic of race and social justice advocacy through age appropriate books. What creative techniques are used to attract and hold audience attention? 1. What is this project? What form will it take? What's the task at hand? This project on race and social justice is designed to take a deeper look into an issue at hand in middle schools.  The central focus is the issue of middle school students separating themselves from each other on the basis of racial identity as they learn to develop a sense of self.  We will create a digital platform to display our message, findings and sources to the audience.
