1. Working Title
Teachers for Social Justice: A Series of Resources for Middle School Teachers

2. Executive Summary
This project on racial discrimination in middle school classrooms is intended to assist and teach teachers strategies and tools to handle this separation in the classroom. This project will provide an unpacking of racial discrimination and the forms it can take, as well as how those apply to a typical middle school classroom. Through this, our audience of teacher candidates, teachers, and parents will gain skills to diffuse and discuss racial tensions will early adolescents. This information is vital in our current political climate, when students are hearing racial slurs and hate mongering in the news daily. This project will provide a collection of resources that middle school teachers and parents can use to support their children and their moral and social development.

• To have sources to use in their own lessons and curriculum to help create a sense of belonging
• Tools and strategies to immediately diffuse racial tension in the classroom 
• A way to talk to your kids at home about racial discrimination in the classroom

5. Deliverables
Our audience will take away a deeper understanding of how racial discrimination affects learning in the classroom. The audience will experience situations similar to racism that middle schoolers face in the classroom, and will work out strategies to assist students through those situations. Our audience will also develop strategies to show parents and administration how they are diffusing racial tensions in the classroom and how parents can help at home.
6. Treatment
The digital platform we will be using to impart our message is a website created through Wix. This is an interactive platform that will allow us to include images and infographics, and will also allow us to hyperlink other helpful resources. The commenting feature on this type of website will allow us to hold a discussion and for other classmates and future educators to interact with each other.

7. Timetable/Schedule
We have two and a half class periods to work on this project, with additional time outside of class. In today’s class, we achieved our goal of nearly completing Part One. We completed the Creative Brief and the Critically Analyze a Mentor Text assignment. We will finish the Scope of Work plan and the Dream it, Do it assignment by next class. In the next class period, we will create our website and begin to build our infographics and analysis of sources for our website.

8. Resources Needed
The resources needed by our audience for the presentation will be access to the internet whether it is through a laptop or a smartphone. Our audience will need to be able to reach our website to interact and participate in the discussion.

9. Constraints or Challenges
A challenge for our audience being able to fully engage in our project would be technology failure. If the wifi is not working correctly, the audience will struggle to reach the website that we need them to view. There are often tensions and uncomfortable feelings that revolve around the discussion of race and social justice in any context, especially in education. This could be a challenge to discussion, as people may not want to give their opinion. Hopefully through our research, our website can help people create an educated opinion and understanding of how race and social justice affect our schools.
